Our key of the month for October is Failure Leas to Success! We believe mistakes are a vital part of learning and growing. We never give up!
I will make a Blog entry about once a month, sometimes more, if we have some special things happening in Guidance! We are trying something new this year at EES! We want to help ensure that our students can develop healthy habits that will make them successful in school, activities, and one day, in a career! Each month, if your child reaches the attendance goal, they will be entered into a drawing for a prize! Each month is a new chance, as each month will have a new attendance goal. So don't worry, if your child doesn't get to be entered for the prize one month, they have a chance again the following month! What counts as an absence? -Any absence, excused or unexcused... however, if your child is sick with the flu, or has a reason for an extended absence, such as surgery, mono, family trip, death in the family, etc. those will only be counted as 1 absence. For example, let's say your child gets the flu (hopefully not) and they miss 3 days of school in a row... I will only count that as 1 absence for the reward, since it is one illness. Keep them home, get them well, please do not send them back until they are completely healed! We want them well and at their personal best! ***We are bound by our district-wide attendance policy for all other purposes, but for the reward system, we can use these guidelines. We are still required to send out attendance notification letters at 6 and 12 absences. Past 12 absences (days missed), you will be required to submit a doctor's note. Drawings will be done at the conclusion of each month. Here are the goals! August: 1 Absence September: 2 or less absences October: 3 or less absences November: 4 or less absences December: 5 or less absences January: 6 or less absences February: 7 or less absences March: 8 or less absences April: 9 or less absences May: 10 or less absences!!! |
